ACCIONA’s commitments to renewable energy and sustainability best practices have made the company to obtain the distinctive RobecoSAM Silver Class 2015 in the Electric Utilities, according to The Sustainability Yearbook 2015.
RobecoSAM, specialist in sustainable investments, conducts an annual assessment on sustainability and publishes the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World), a reference internationally in this sector. In the results of the 2014 assessment, ACCIONA confirms its presence for the eighth consecutive year. And this is the second year that the company has been evaluated as part of the Electric Utilities sector as a result of the change in its business profile in recent years, which has resulted in greater exposure to renewable energy.
The Sustainability Yearbook 2015 includes the top 15% of companies in each sector in terms of social, environmental and corporate governance practices. A total of 3,000 companies worldwide, 457 admitted in 59 sectors were evaluated this year. The ratings announced in January 2015 consisted of 69 Gold Class companies, 54 Silver Class companies and 112 Bronze Class companies.
