The waste of food is not only an economic and social cost, but also has a negative impact on the environment.

According to the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), 30% of the world's farmland produce food that will never be consumed. This production also supposes 8% of the emissions of greenhouse gases.
