Atmospheric pollution is the presence in the air of substances or particles that involve risk, damage or discomfort to humans, flora or fauna.

There are two main sources of air pollution: gases -mainly carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides and ozone- and aerosols.
