Pedro Calderón de la Barca (1600-1681) was a playwright, writer and priest of the Spanish Golden Age. He is considered one of the greatest references of Baroque literature, especially for its theatrical production.
In his very extensive literary production -around two hundred works- Calderon de la Barca frequently uses the natural environment, where many of the plays take place. He stated his fondness for nature with this famous quote: "Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises."
