The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is an international agreement adopted in 1992, though entered into force in 1994, to officially recognize the impact of human activity on global warming and try to propose common solutions.

The Convention is ratified by 197 Parties and is a framework document, ie, it may include amendments and reforms over time to orient more effectively the efforts to mitigate climate change.
