The excessive consumption of natural resources jeopardizes the sustainability of the planet. Indeed, 2016 score a record of fish consumption worldwide: for the first time in history, according to data from FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), the average consumption per capita exceeded twenty kilograms.

Therefore, sustainable fishing and responsible exploitation of aquaculture will be key during the next years to ensure the survival of the marine species that humankind fishes to eat.
