A new life for recycled products

The useful life of many of the objects we have at home does not necessarily have to end when they have fulfilled their original function and we have finished using them or they are worn with time.

There are infinite new uses for many items that normally end up in the rubbish bin. Before recycling them, reuse them by giving them a new function. As you are about to see, everything has its use. ¿Would you like some ideas? In this gallery, we have gathered a few examples that particularly impressed us.

Empty toilet rolls for folding cables into

¿Tired of cables from computers, mobile phones, TVs and other devices, which end up tangled in a box or drawer? With this simple solution, you can keep them in order. Put each cable inside an empty toilet paper roll and arrange them tidily in a shoebox.

Shelves made from shoeboxes

Another interesting use for shoeboxes is this unique form of shelving. By lining them with newspaper, we achieve decorative ledges to exhibit objects and figurines. Important to remember is that these structures, hanging from the wall, cannot support much weight.

Coasters made from cork and CDs

¿Have you ever reckoned up how many wine bottle corks you throw into the rubbish during a year? You can bet it will be many more than you need to make these lovely coasters for sitting under cups and glasses. Another option is to wrap compact discs you no longer want in non-slip gift paper. Two types coasters then, perfect for a party.

A wardrobe made from chairs

Not enough space to hang or store clothes? ¿Do you have unused old chairs you don’t know what to do with? Kill two birds with one stone by hanging typical folding chairs on the wall, firmly supported, store your folded clothes on top and hang dresses and shirts from their footrests.

Different uses for an old suitcase

A broken suitcase, no longer of use for traveling, can nevertheless still be redeployed in multiple ways, forming a cabinet or wardrobe fixed to the wall, for instance, serving as a comfortable resting place for your pet or an original bed for flowers and plants.

Table made from video cassettes

The age of VHS is over, but you can bet many people still have a stack of tapes they don’t know what to do with. If this sounds familiar, why not build an original coffee table out of them? With strong glue, and a little bit of patience, you can build this shrine to good times past.

Egg boxes into seed trays

The cardboard egg box is perhaps one product that stays the least time in the house. After buying the eggs, we slot them into the fridge egg tray and chuck the box in the bin. But, with some soil, a few seeds and water we can create a mini-allotment for planting herbs and flowers. Couldn’t be simpler!

Coat hanaers from cutlery

When it’s time to change the dining room cutlery, we probably feel sad at getting rid of some pieces. But although they may have been well used, they could yet have more life in them… as hangers for clothes, keys, hats and the like, for example. By being a bit clever, we can achieve the most unusual and attractive designs!

Shampoo bottle as holder for charging mobile phone

A shampoo bottle can be the perfect object to hold your mobile off the floor during recharging. By cutting the bottle in the right place, you can convert it into a plastic holder with a handle for hanging from the plug in the socket.
