A Code of Conduct is a document issued by an organization addressed to employees and third parties in order to implement a series of practices and behaviours that reflect an ethical business philosophy.

Although some companies began to write the first codes of conduct in the 1970s, it is in the 1990s when multinationals begin to publicly transmit their documents by whici they commit to regulate their activity from an ethical point of view.
