#LearnSustainability: Wetlands disappearence

The planet currently harbors more than 2,000 wetlands distributed in almost 170 countries. These ecosystems are very important because they contain a high biological diversity, they are natural regulators of the climate and the water cycle and contribute to the control of floods and droughts.

However, since the beginning of the 20th century these areas have been reduced by 63%, which means the loss of innumerable habitats and warns us about the need to offer a better protection for these sites.
